1. What Steam Companion is

Steam Companion is a read-only companion dashboard for your Steam library: backlog suggestions, wishlist deal tracking, achievement progress and free-game alerts. Steam Companion is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by Valve Corporation or Steam.

2. Your account

• You log in through Steam OpenID. We never see or store your Steam password.
• You are responsible for keeping your own Steam account secure (password, Steam Guard, device access).
• You must be old enough to use Steam under Valve's own terms to use this app.
• You can disconnect at any time from Settings.

3. Read-only, by design

Steam Companion only reads data Steam makes available through its official API and OpenID login. It never unlocks or resets achievements, never edits your wishlist or library, and never takes any action on Steam on your behalf.

4. Acceptable use

Don't use Steam Companion to:

• scrape, bulk-extract or resell data shown in the app;
• attempt to bypass access controls, rate limits or authentication;
• interfere with the service's normal operation (e.g. automated abuse of the login or price-lookup endpoints);
• use the app for anything illegal.

We may suspend or terminate access for accounts that violate these rules.

5. External stores and affiliate links

Prices, discounts and match candidates for external stores (GOG, Fanatical, Green Man Gaming, Humble Store, Gamesplanet, Instant Gaming and others) come from third-party sources and can be wrong, stale, or match the wrong edition/bundle — we flag uncertain matches, but nothing here is a guarantee. Purchases you make on an external store happen entirely under that store's own terms; Steam Companion is not a party to that transaction. Some outbound links are affiliate links: this never changes the price you pay and may earn Steam Companion a commission. See the Privacy Policy for details.

6. No warranty

Steam Companionis an independently run product still under active development. It is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Features can change, break, or be removed as the product evolves.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Steam Companion and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including losses related to purchases made on third-party stores based on information shown here.

8. Changes to the service and these terms

We may update these terms, or change/discontinue features, as the product evolves. We will update the "Last updated" date above when the terms change.

9. Governing law
